• The Picture of Dorian Gray: I put this on my read shelf on Goodreads when in reality, I only watched the movie and haven't read the book. <3 Ben Barnes btw. - Dea (IvaliceAlliance)
• Twilight: We claim that we dislike this saga but honestly, we really liked it. We admit that the movies clouded our judgment and disappointed us because they're not how we pictured them to be. Movies aside, it's a pretty good series and what started it all. - Teen Readers' Diary
• Jane Eyre: Both of us have it on our read shelf when only Riz (Bookadicea) have read it. We really intend to but we're still struggling to find time and fight our constant desire to read new books. Classics aren't really for us. :) - Dea (IvaliceAlliance) and Mary Ann
• I Am Number Four: After 50 pages or so, I gave up on reading this any further. I dunno, it just gave me a headache and the fact that Alex Pettyfer will play the role of John made me think of ignoring the book and watch it on the big screen instead. - Dea (IvaliceAlliance)
• Beautiful Creatures: I rated this book 3 stars but after finishing Beautiful Darkness, I realized that I really loved it! Now I'm on to editing my review and change it into 4.5. - Mary Ann

Thoughts

Three years after the car accident that killed Mia’s family, both she and Adam have gone separate ways with their lives. As he and Mia find each other one lonely night in New York, Adam finds out the answers to his questions that were left hanging for three years.


I thought IF I STAY was really good, but WHERE SHE WENT turned out to be one of my favorites ever. I’m overwhelmed with too much emotion right now and still dazed after finishing it. I haven’t read a book in three and a half hours and greatly impacted me like WHERE SHE WENT did. It’s so hard to put down, in which case I did not. It broke my heart and patched it up again. A sequel that not only met my expectations but successfully went beyond them. 

Part of the reason why I loved it so much is because it was written from Adam’s POV. I adore Mia but it’s a great change to see through a guy’s mind. Adam’s pain of losing her was so evident that I almost felt it. I knew from the beginning that he’s still miserable and not at all happy despite his rock star status. Sure, he has a celebrity girlfriend, but that doesn’t fill the void in his chest. On the other hand, I didn’t hate or dislike Mia. I know she has a reason for leaving him. One that would be enough for his forgiveness. I’m not surprised that she has somehow got over the tragedy that happened to her family. The first book was a tear-jerker, but this one… I had to stop myself from losing it and bawl in front of my brothers. The confrontation tore me up to pieces and I almost lost hope that they will ever make up. The ending was also exactly the way I always wanted it to be. 

Beautifully written and emotionally moving, WHERE SHE WENT is a kind of book that will always stay with me.

Thoughts:

The book depicted the amazing culture and beliefs of the Irish and what a coincidence when I've read it during St. Patrick's Day. Well, the plot of the story is quite interesting and absorbing. The book was skillfuly written which made me feel the intensity of the emotions of the story. Two things that made my heart thumped was when Teagan went to the Zoo and the cat-sidhe followed her and the other scene was when the Hellhounds chased them even outside the borders of Mag Mell. Those scenes actually put me on the edge of my seat. On the other hand, I was surprised by the early hint of Finn's love for Teagan. I didn't expect it to happen on love at first sight because I've read some books and almost everything started with the feeling of something unknown and basically the characters were confused on that stage. The differnce of this book to the other books I've read was that Finn-Teagan relationship wasn't elaborated that much (well, I think it has similarities to Demon King when it comes to that matter), thus, it will leave you hanging and will make you crave for more reading. Actually the book leave me hanging onto its sequel. All in all it is truly a wonderful book that is worth to read with unique characters and because of that I can't wait to read In the Forests of the Night!

Back to the Beginning: What was the 1st book you reviewed on your blog?

Me and my two other friends just started this blog last Sunday and so far, I've only posted one review and that will be of the Chaos Walking trilogy by Patrick Ness. I did a review for the whole trilogy because after finishing each one, I always pick up the next right after without writing my thoughts. I literally did nothing else besides eat, sleep, and bathe during that time. lol. I know I have no life. But seriously, if you haven't read Patrick Ness' masterpiece of a trilogy, I HIGHLY suggest you do.

If you were given the chance to spend one day in a fictional world (from a book), which book would it be from and what would that place be?

I'd love to spend a day in a world Cassandra Clare created in The Mortal Instruments series. I'm a huge fan of hers and her series and being in the world of Shadowhunters and Downworlders would be exciting. Besides, I haven't been to New York so it would be a double win for me!
