"Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Jill at Breaking The Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.
Burn for Burn by Jenny Han and Siobhan Vivian
Hardcover: 368
Release date: September 18th, 2012
Publisher: Simon & Schuster
Goodreads Summary: The start of a brand-new young adult trilogy about three very different girls who overcome their differences and band together to seek revenge on those who have wronged them, uncovering a supernatural secret about what brought them together and why in the process. Each book will rotate back and forth between the perspectives of all three characters.
I'm a huge fan of Contemporary and the Summer series is one of my favorites. A collaboration of Jenny Han and Siobhan Vivian? A. MUST. READ.
Gravity (The Taking #1) by Melissa West
Paperback: 400 oages
Release date: October 16th, 2012
Publisher: Entangled Publishing
Goodreads summary: In the future, only one rule will matter: Don’t. Ever. Peek.
Seventeen-year-old Ari Alexander just broke that rule and saw the last person she expected hovering above her bed--arrogant Jackson Locke, the most popular boy in her school. She expects instant execution or some kind of freak alien punishment, but instead, Jackson issues a challenge: help him, or everyone on Earth will die. Ari knows she should report him, but everything about Jackson makes her question what she’s been taught about his kind. And against her instincts, she’s falling for him. But Ari isn’t just any girl, and Jackson wants more than her attention. She’s a military legacy who’s been trained by her father and exposed to war strategies and societal information no one can know--especially an alien spy, like Jackson. Giving Jackson the information he needs will betray her father and her country, but keeping silent will start a war.

Gravity seems fun and intense.
ReplyDeleteI can't decide if it's the future and everyone involved is human, or if aliens really are part of the story. Guess we'll figure out soon enough.
