Top Ten of 2011 hosted by Jaime & Patricia from Two Chicks on Books and Rachel from Fiktshun, Jessica from Confessions of a Bookaholic and Lisa from A Life Bound by Books. Today it's about my favorite list: Top 10 Book Boyfriends! Although this is quite another difficult one. There are gazillion gorgeous and amazing YA guys out there... how can I possibly just choose ten? So I decided to include an honorable mention list just so I wouldn't feel bad about not including some of my book boyfriends. Again, In no particular order.
Will Herondale and Jem Carstairs (Infernal Devices series by Cassandra Clare) - I know, I know I'm cheating again. But it doesn't seem right to list Will and not Jem. I loved them both (although I'm leaning more towards Will). These boys are captivating and I admire their loyalty towards each other. I even enjoy their bromance more so than their individual conversations with Tessa sometimes. I can't help but love both the emotionally broken and the physically broken Shadowhunters.
Adam Kent (Shatter Me by Tehereh Mafi) - oh, Juliette.. you lucky girl. He's immune to her lethal touch, but I don't know anyone who's immune to his charm and awesomeness.
Han Alister (Seven Realms series by Cinda Williams Chima) - From my review: "I know all fantasy heroes are supposed to be awesome, but Han Alister is more than that. He has changed so much from being a thief to a talented wizard. His passion, courage and determination made him my favorite character not only in the series but also in all YA Fantasy books."
Four (Divergent by Veronica Roth) - He's strong, compelling, mysterious, and definitely dauntless. He
has the whole tough facade going on but deep inside he has a compassionate and loving heart.

Tom Mackee (The Piper's Son by Melina Marchetta) - I believe there are real-life Tom Mackees out there. He's complicated and broken and just different from the one I knew from Saving Francesca. Sure, he's flawed and he thinks he's a failure at age nineteen, but I'm glad his family and Tara got him back together.
Aiden (Covenant series by Jennifer Armentrout) - Cool, calm, and collected, Aiden reminds me of Dimitri from VA. But I swear I like Aiden more (being team Adrian and all). He's protective without being controlling, and he's one fine man.
Ash (Iron Fey series by Julie Kagawa) - He was distant and cold sometimes, but I melt every time he gets all romantic and serious to Meghan. He's tough and brave and oh so hot.
Adam Wilde (Where She Went by Gayle Forman) - I love my heroes messed up and intense. I felt his pain over losing the only girl he loved and unhappiness over his rock star status. He writes music, so it was an auto-love for me... plus he's so swoon-worthy.
Fuentes Brothers (Perfect Chemistry series by Gayle Forman) - I've read all three books this year, and boy am I so glad I did. Alex, Carlos, and Luis are three smokin' brothers I just wish were real. And I love 'em all equally.
Etienne St. Claire (Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins) - Just thinking about his name makes me swoon. He has a British accent for Pete's sake! He's funny and sweet and just.. perfect. I can gush about him all day.
Honorable Mentions
Vincent and Jules (Die for Me by Amy Plum)
Matt and Finn Watkins (Flat-Out Love by Jessica Park)
Caleb Jacobson (Significance by Shelley Crane)
John After (Going Too Far by Jennifer Echols)
Noah Shaw (The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkin)
Jacob Talon (Saving June by Hannah Harrington)
Who are your top book boyfriends this year? Tell me in the comments or leave a link to your own list!
Love, love, love! Alex Fuentes made mine. I thought about John After, but in the end he was too "domestic" for me, haha. But great list!

DEAAAA!! I love your list!! :) And I wanted to thank you! I started reading The sky is everywhere just because of your thoughts in Top Ten Books Read in 2011!! I've finished it last night.. And Oh my God was it good! I totally loved it! :)
ReplyDeleteEtienne! I should have thought of him as well, but that's probably the one thing I've said too much to count today already. I loved Four and so many people keep mentioning some of the books you've picked that I feel a little left out. LOL
ReplyDeleteI have to read them, too. 2012, here I come!
Patricia
Super list!
ReplyDeleteI honestly had Thomas Mackee on my list. However, I already had my 10 and though folks just wouldn't get my attraction for him. I now see I should have just stuck with my own instinct. :)
Have a great day and Happy Reading!

I'm leaning more towards Jem but cool you included both of them. I also love and included Four and Adam. I loved Jacob from Saving June too but my boyfriend list is already way over its limit. I really must read Half-Blood, Shatter Me, and Perfect Chemistry series to meet all these fantastic boys I keep hearing about.

Noah and Four are totally my ideal two even though they are pretty much complete opposites. Adam's pretty high up there for me too. Great list! Some of these I just got for Christmas and can't wait to meet!
