City Love
City Love
by Susane Colasanti
Publisher: Katherine Tegen Books
Release Date: April 21st, 2015
Blurb:
Sadie, Darcy, and Rosanna are living together in New York City the summer before their freshman year of college begins. With no parents, no rules, and an entire city to explore, these three girls are on the verge of the best summer of their lives.

Sadie is a native New Yorker. She is hopeful, romantic, and an eternal optimist who is ready to find her soul mate. Then she meets her dream boy: cute, funny, and quirky in all the right ways. The chemistry between them is unreal. Could he be the one?

Darcy is a free spirit from SoCal with rebellious tendencies and unlimited financial resources. Moving to New York City is just another adventure for her. Darcy wants this summer to be all about boy adventures—nothing serious. But how much fun is too much?

Rosanna leaves Chicago for NYC so she can put her past behind her and reinvent herself. The only thing standing in her way is the grand total of seventy-three cents she has saved. Then she meets a guy who wants to show her the glamorous side of New York—a side that she would never get to experience on her own. If Rosanna doesn't resist, she may find herself in city love.

Told from alternating points of view, City Love captures the moments in each girl's life when everything is thrilling, amazing, and terrifying all at once . . . in a way it will never be again.

A Matter of Heart
Publisher: Delacorte
Release Date: May 2015
Blurb:
Readers will happily sink into this emotionally grounded, contemporary young adult novel about the sudden end of one girl's Olympic swimming dreams and the struggles she endures before realizing there are many things that define who we are.

Sixteen-year-old Abby Lipman is on track to win the state swim championships and qualify for the Olympic trials when a fainting incident at a swim meet leads to the diagnosis of a deadly heart condition. Now Abby is forced to discover who she is without the one thing that's defined her entire life.

I love quotes! I can’t tell you how many times quotes have helped me think about things in a different way, helped me through tough moments and kept me positive when I was ready to scream. When I come across a quote that I especially love, I write it down on a sticky note and I paste it up around my desk. Sometimes I even make up my own quotes, like this one:

This quote reminds me to shut off that negative voice in my head. Maybe you have one too—that voice telling you you’re no good and that you can’t or you shouldn’t or you never will…all those negative things? So this quote comes in handy quite often!

Most of the quotes I have up are inspirational for me as a writer but they also seem to apply to life in general. Here they are:

So, that’s what’s inspiring me. What inspires you? I hope you’ll share in the comments.

SHUT UP AND DANCE - WALK THE MOON
"I'd probably stop and dance instead of jogging while listening to this, so why picked it?
Because I LOVE IT *wink*"

TAKE A WALK - PASSION PIT
"You can't just take a walk while listening to this song.
I'd jump then run then jump, this is just perfect"

CARRIED AWAY - PASSION PIT
"You'll literally get carried away with this song. I know it doesn't sound that
upbeat like the other songs but I could sing this song all the way while working out even when I'm in the bus sitting, so you see..."

I REALLY LIKE YOU - CARLY RAE JEPSEN
"I love love this song so much that it's on repeat every time  I hear it. I mean this is just a perfect background song while you're working out and then somebody (who's hot*wink*) see you--hah in my dreams hehe"

BO$$ -FIFTH HARMONY
"People you better move out of my way when this song is on because I'm gonna work this out!(This is only happening in my mind)"

So yeah that's some of my to-go songs while working out, what's yours? Let me know in the comments below! ;)
